Hi!I’m Adam, a UK-based freelance illustrator specializing in middle-grade fiction, children’s non-fiction, and educational publishing.
I collaborate with publishers and clients to bring stories, ideas, resources, gifts, and cards to life through vibrant illustrations, with a passion for powerfully engaging creative projects that spark imagination and connection.
My style draws from expressive ink-and-brush traditions, infusing warmth, texture, and heartfelt craftsmanship. I strive to create inclusive, welcoming art that’s accessible to everyone, with each character and design uniquely original.
A Little About Me
Growing up with dyslexia was tough on one hand, but on the other, being different often makes you an outlier — a gift and a curse. I don’t know who I’d be if I’d read and written like the other kids, but I know I probably wouldn’t be here drawing today.
“Little Vincent van Gogh,” my primary school teacher would affectionately call me, tugging my (thankfully still attached) ear. “You’re going to be a famous artist one day,” she’d proclaim. That’s some impressive encouragement!
I was raised on 90s video games and books with more pictures than words, from “Where’s Wally?” to “Horrible Histories” —ultimately leading to a BA in Illustration from Falmouth University.
Since then, with detours, distractions, different jobs, and bills to pay, it hasn’t been a straightforward journey. But through it all, I’ve stayed committed to my craft and the ambition that blossomed from those early school years. Today, I dedicate myself to getting a little better every day, while uplifting others through my work.
